Westport announces a unique on-board storage solution that provides best in class performance for vehicles using liquefied natural gas (LNG). The new Westport™ LNG Tank System, will be available in 120 and 150 gallon capacities, is optimized for spark ignited (SI) engines and begins shipping by mid-2013. The Westport LNG Tank System features proprietary Westport technology and is expected to provide customers with the ability to fuel even the largest SI engines on a single tank and deliver extended range.

Tower Power: Improving Air Quality and Electricity Access in India. Westport is bringing its expertise to help improve air quality and access to electricity in rural India, through a Commitment to Action announced at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting. Westport and its partners' Commitment to Action aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from mobile phone tower generators by using natural gas, while also providing residual power to nearby villages that are currently off the grid.

Pioneer is adding 225 bi-fuel, Westport™ WiNG natural gas powered Ford F-250 Super Duty trucks to its fleet, as it transitions a number of its vehicles from gasoline and diesel powered to those able to run on more cost-effective CNG for light-duty, and LNG for heavy-duty applications.

Westport has entered into an additional agreement with General Motors for a second advanced technology development program. Westport and GM are now developing two different combustion, controls and emissions approaches to natural gas engines, with the first cooperative technology project being announced in June 2011.
