Position Responsibilities

• Preparing a detailed schedule for a complex work scope and managing the schedule and tasks as well as budget allocation from concept through to customer release. 
• Developing and maintaining project documentation, such as Project Charters, funding reports and coordinating, gathering and reporting on project status.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

• A BSc/BEng or related field

Position Responsibilities
As an Applications Engineer, you will apply your talents to developing and releasing engine and vehicle integration specifications for HPDI fuel systems. You will be instrumental in the integration and optimization of modules specific to our natural gas fuel system.

Some of you responsibilities will include the following:

• Interact with customers and vehicle OEMs to understand requirements 
• Create shop orders where modules are assembled leading to the construction of a complete product 
• Ensure proper engineering Quality of product installation in the vehicle through the adherence to the Application Engineering Bulletins and Installation Quality Assurance process 
• Complete product specifications including vehicle systems schematics including hydraulic, coolant , fuel, LNG, CNG and electrical 
• Communicate CAD models and release specifications with OEM partners and customers 
• Release fact sheets as needed to document analysis work and issue resolution 
• Trouble shoot the system and data acquisition responsibilities 
• Complete Engineering Change Requests and contribute to product release structures and processes 
• Work with development and manufacturing engineers to coordinate fabrication and inspection activities and follow-up, 
• Lead Installation Quality Assurance process implementation with OEM

Position Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering plus a minimum of three years experience with precision component and or product design in high-pressure gas, cryogenics, hydraulics, or automotive fuel systems and their components. You will also have experience in a team or product group where vehicle design was a key component. You will have the ability to direct and lead engineering resources to deliver product specs per plan and on budget. Successful candidates will have experience with QS 9000 and ISO/TS 16949 including working knowledge of APQP and PPAP.

Candidates must have hands-on experience with manufacturing design and assembly and must be proficient in 3-D modeling software applications specifically, PRO-Engineer, modeling tools for FEA (ANSYS), hydraulic system design, thermodynamic modeling, and fluid dynamic modeling. You will also have a demonstrated capability to understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. You will have strong problem solving abilities, the ability to share knowledge through training others and exceptional communications skills. Some travel to China, Europe, and throughout North America will be required.

Position Responsibilities
As an EVI Development Engineer, you will apply your product development talents to advance and improve the design quality of both our engine and fuel supply modules and components of our existing natural gas fuels system.

Some of you responsibilities will include the following:

• You will support the mechanical and performance development of both current and future products.
• You will be involved throughout the design cycle, through applying your testing validation and field deployment experience. 
• Create BOM for engine and system modules.
• Ensure proper engineering Quality through the development of vehicle design technical profiles, code compliance, vehicle product resolution issues using the FIRG/PIRG process 
• Complete product specifications including vehicle systems schematics including hydraulic, coolant , fuel, LNG, CNG and electrical

Position Requirements

Position Responsibilities
The key responsibility for this role will be to provide Engineering support for new and ongoing projects. Position tasks will include:

• Assisting with technical analysis of new projects
• Assessing, improving and maintaining existing fuel system development projects
• Facilitating failure analysis as part of Westport’s failure resolution process

Qualifications & Experience

Position Overview
Westport Innovations is currently seeking a very highly motivated self-starter for the position of Field Service Engineer to assist in our Australian operations. The ideal

candidate will have strong background in the automotive (trucking) industry, with experience in areas of customer service and service engineering. This position requires initiative and a willingness to build and continually improve the customer experience and dealer network infrastructure in Eastern Australia and Tasmania.


Position Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for the following:

• Providing support to distributors, dealers and end customers to co-ordinate delivery, maintenance, repair of HPDI trucks through development of the Westport service network.
• Working with local partners and service providers to ensure timely and effective support for HPDI trucks
• Provide detailed issue reports and work with product Engineering to resolve issues and to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
• Frequent meeting with customers and partners to ensure good communication and customer satisfaction
• Tracking, evaluating and reporting on HPDI fleet operations, reliability metrics and repair incidents
• Participation in validation of customer documentation such as work instructions, repair procedures, and troubleshooting manuals.
• Providing and developing technical and warranty training on HPDI service, operation and maintenance to dealer network and end users
• Assisting with warranty claim administration and ensuring all service work follows Westport procedures and controls

Qualifications & Experience 

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a senior service leadership role
• Strong mechanical aptitude & knowledge of heavy duty trucks and the Australian market
• Familiarity with automotive workshops, OEM procedures and processes and previous service and maintenance experience is essential
