Beijing Tianhai Industry Co. Ltd.Beijing Tianhai Industry Co. Ltd. (China) — LNG Fuel Tanks

In July 2006, we formed BTIC Westport Inc., a 50:50 joint venture company with Beijing Tianhai Industry Co. Ltd. (BTIC) of China, to market and sell more cost-effective, custom-engineered tanks for liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the transportation market.

BTIC is the largest industrial gas, firefighting, and compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinder manufacturer in Asia, with output of more than 1.5 million units annually from facilities in Beijing and Tianjin. BTIC has also become the dominant supplier of CNG products in China with customers including Volkswagen, Citroën, Suzuki, Ford, and Volvo. BTIC's industrial products have been distributed to over 30 countries worldwide and CNG sales have expanded to South and Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and South America. The company has approximately 800 employees.

BTIC has built a sophisticated new assembly line for industrial cryogenic cylinders, which will be used to manufacture BTIC Westport LNG tanks. A strict focus on product quality processes has allowed BTIC to build relationships with demanding automotive customers. BTIC has been issued national certifications by the United States (DOT), Canada (TC), Norway, India, Japan, UK, France, and Germany (TUV). BTIC has also implemented quality control programs including ISO 9001:2000, QS9000, and VDA6.1.
Clean Energy Fuels Corp.Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (North America) — Fuelling Infrastructure

In October 2000, to assist with the development of refuelling infrastructure, Westport participated in the creation of what is now North America's largest natural gas vehicle refuelling company.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. is based in Seal Beach, California and is the leading provider of natural gas (CNG and LNG) for transportation in North America. It has a broad customer base in the refuse, transit, ports, shuttle, taxi, trucking, airport and municipal fleet markets, fuelling more than 14,000 vehicles daily at over 170 strategic locations across the United States and Canada.
Cryostar SASCryostar SAS (France) — LNG Fuel Pumps

In 2006, Westport and Cryostar SAS, a division of the BOC Group and a global leader in cryogenic pump products, completed a License and Supply Agreement for the development, manufacture and supply of cryogenic LNG fuel pumps, based on Westport's cryogenic technology.

Founded in 1966, Cryostar is an international company specialising in the development, manufacture and sale of cryogenic equipment and expertise for industrial gas, LNG, hydrocarbons, and clean energy. Cryostar delivers cryogenic pumps, turbines, compressors, heat exchangers, and automatic filling stations to customers throughout the world. Cryostar is wholly-owned by the BOC Group, one of the world's largest industrial gas companies.

With ten years of development and several million miles of on-road testing, the Westport & Cryostar LNG fuel pump module will deliver the performance and reliability demanded in heavy-duty on- and off-highway applications. The pump is fully integrated with vehicle computer control systems, and is capable of delivering up to 100 kg/hr of warm compressed natural gas to the engine at pressures up to 5,000 psi.
Cummins Inc.Cummins Inc. (North America) — Engine Manufacturing

Westport has worked with Cummins Inc. on a range of technology developments and projects since 1999. Cummins is the world's largest independent manufacturer of diesel engines and a global power leader in engines, electrical power generation systems, and related technologies. Our 50:50 joint venture, Cummins Westport Inc. was formed in 2001.

Cummins Westport engines are sold and serviced through the Cummins worldwide distribution network of more than 550 company-owned and independent distributors and 5,000 dealer locations in over 160 countries and territories.

The Cummins network is currently the largest engine service and support network in the world. Cummins Westport engines are manufactured in Cummins engine plants in the United States, India, and China. There have been over 20,000 CWI engines sold to date.
KenworthKenworth (North America) — Class 8 LNG Trucks

In 2009, Kenworth Truck Company expands its presence in the growing market for environmentally friendly, LNG vehicles by beginning production of Kenworth T800 LNG trucks at its manufacturing facility in Mexicali, Mexico. Under an exclusive agreement with Westport, Kenworth will use Westport's LNG fuel system technology adapted for the Cummins ISX 15-litre engine.

Kenworth Truck Company, a division of PACCAR Inc, is a leading manufacturer of heavy- and medium-duty trucks. Kenworth was the recipient of the 2007 J.D. Power and Associates awards for Highest in Customer Satisfaction for Over The Road, Pickup and Delivery, and Vocational Segment Class 8 trucks.

The Kenworth T800 is one of the most versatile trucks on the market today. The T800 serves a variety of applications from linehaul tractors with the luxurious 86" Studio AeroCab® sleeper to severe service off-highway dump trucks and urban pickup and delivery vehicles. This operational versatility, coupled with its legendary reliability and high resale value, gives the T800 unmatched levels of customer satisfaction. The Westport engine is fuelled with LNG—a safe, cost effective, low carbon, and low emissions fuel. The Westport LNG System is available with 400 and 450 horsepower ratings and up to 1,750 lb-ft torque for heavy-duty port, freight, and vocational applications. LNG fuel tanks can be configured to suit customer range requirements. Trucks are eligible for federal tax credits in the United States and may be eligible for other state-specific emissions credits.
OMVLOMVL SpA (Italy) — Fuel Systems

In 2007, Westport Innovations Inc. and OMVL SpA formed a joint venture—Juniper Engines Inc.—to offer high-performance alternative fuel engines for the global industrial market. Juniper's initial products are 2.4 litre and 2.0 litre LPG and CNG engine solutions for industrial applications such as forklifts. Juniper is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada with sales and engineering support located in North America, Europe and Asia.

OMVL is based in Pernumia, Italy and is a leading global player in the alternative fuel vehicles sector. OMVL designs, manufactures and markets complete fuelling systems for new vehicles and for the aftermarket conversion of engines from gasoline (petrol) to CNG and LPG. OMVL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the SIT Group, an Italian multinational founded in 1953 specializing in safety, monitoring, and control systems for domestic gas heating appliances and for alternative fuel vehicles. OMVL currently collaborates with the global manufacturers of motor vehicles, including Volkswagen, Peugeot, Citroën and Ford, with sales in Europe, the Americas and Australasia. OMVL and SIT have production and distribution facilities in Europe, North and South America, Australia, and China.
PeterbiltPeterbilt Motors Co. (North America) — Class 8 LNG Trucks

In 2009, Peterbilt Motors Company announced that the company will offer three new LNG configurations on its Models 387, 386 and 367 in 2009. The factory-installed LNG system is part of a joint agreement between Peterbilt and Westport Innovations Inc. to provide natural gas versions of select Peterbilt aerodynamic and vocational vehicles.

Peterbilt Motors Company, a division of PACCAR Inc, manufactures premium quality trucks for a wide range of markets, including over-the-road, construction, municipal, and medium-duty. Based in Denton, Texas, Peterbilt combines classic styling, innovative design and superior-quality features in a custom-engineered truck that stands as the "Class" of the industry. Through its 240-plus North American dealer locations, Peterbilt also provides a comprehensive array of TruckCare® aftermarket support programs, including preventive maintenance plans, expedited QuickCare services, automated parts inventory replenishment and 24/7 complimentary Customer Assistance.
VolvoVolvo (Sweden) — Engine Manufacturing

In 2009, Westport announced that Volvo has entered into an agreement with Westport as a Tier 1 Development Supplier for its heavy duty natural gas engines and associated supply chain. Westport will supply its Westport HD technology and work together with the Gothenburg, Sweden engine manufacturer to qualify appropriate suppliers consistent with Volvo volume and quality expectations. The new natural gas engines are expected to meet future European emission requirements.
Weichai Power Co. Ltd.Weichai Power Co. Ltd. (China) — Engine Manufacturing

In July 2008, we formed Weichai Westport Inc., a joint venture company with Weichai Power Co., Ltd., China's largest heavy-duty engine manufacturer, and Hong Kong Peterson (CNG) Equipment Limited to research, develop, design, manufacture, market, distribute and sell advanced, alternative fuel engines (and relevant parts and kits) for use in automobiles, heavy-duty trucks, power generation and shipping applications.

Weichai is the biggest powertrain manufacturer and owns the most integrated heavy-duty vehicle value chain in China, including the manufacturing of the engine, gearbox, axle, vehicle and other vehicle related parts. Weichai has over 1,000 models of advanced diesel engine products, which are widely used on heavy-duty trucks, large buses, construction machinery, marine vessels and power generation. Weichai reports a 36% share of Chinese heavy-duty vehicle market and more than 80% share of the over 5-ton construction machinery market. Weichai is one of the top engine suppliers in the world with annual sales of 300,000 engines. In particular, the WD series and WP Landking series of heavy-duty, high-speed engines developed and manufactured by Weichai are appreciated by consumers due to their high performance, reliability, and economic benefits. Weichai Power is a public company listed on the Hongkong Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange in China. Weichai has more than 2,000 authorized maintenance centres in China, which supplies convenient and quick service for customers.
